Did you know that a coral reef can be 1,250 miles long? A coral reef is a large underwater island that is made of coral. Coral is a rocky limestone structure formed in the sea by millions of tiny animals. Coral grows in many shapes and colors. The Great Barrier Reef is the longest group of coral reefs. The great Barrier Reef can be found in Australia. Coral reefs look like a colorful sea garden. The waters around the Great Barrier Reef are warm all year long. This reef is home to many beautiful sea creatures.
